Four Tips for a Productive Work Week

Four Tips for a Productive Work Week

Don't let a case of the Mondays bring you down. With a little #MotivationMonday, you can map out a productive work week from start to finish.

Here are a few tips to practice to increase your productivity at work:

  • Take short breaks. Even when your to-do list seems endless, be sure to take a few 5-10 minute breaks every so often. Take a quick walk, grab a snack or catch-up with your coworkers. Stepping away from your desk allows your brain to recharge and you can dive back into the task more efficiently.
  • Limit multitasking. Multitasking reduces efficiency and performance because your brain has difficulty focusing on more than one thing at a time. Stick to the task at hand and refrain from jumping to others until it's complete. One way to avoid distractions is disabling your pop-up email notifications. Each time you receive a new email, whether you check it or not, your brain loses focus.
  • Prioritize. Making lists of daily goals and weekly deadlines is the best way to manage your workload. But, prioritization is key. Sometimes a long list of to-do's can be overwhelming, but it's best to knock out the most time-sensitive ones first. Avoid working under a time crunch, which brings unnecessary stress.
  • Stick to deadlines. Based on your workload, create personal deadlines and stick to them! If you have several large projects due at the end of the week, create deadlines throughout the week, allowing you to knock each task out one at a time. With sufficient notice, you should always be able to stick to deadlines if you plan effectively.

Give yourself some time to implement these tips into your schedule. Why not make this week your most productive yet?
