Continuing the Online Conversation

Continuing the Online Conversation

According to Simply Measured, the number of smartphone users is expected to grow from 2.6 billion to 6.1 billion in 2020, increasing the ratio to one smartphone user for every 1.2 people in the world. As smartphone usage increases, brands have access to even more communication outlets connecting them with their key audiences. Here are some of the newest features brands can use to continue to engage with current and prospective followers:

  • Facebook Messenger provides brands the ability to connect directly with users, offering personalized interactions based on user bios, preferences and interests. With the launch of Facebook Business, brands have the ability to include offer buttons in their messages so users can make purchases directly from the Facebook Messenger app.
  • Instagram recently introduced Stories, a new feature allowing brands to connect more organically with their followers on the platform. While it is very similar to Snapchat, there are many unique ways to establish a presence with this feature and increase engagement with your followers. Unlike Snapchat, the new Stories feature is now available to desktop users. Read our most recent blog post for more information about ways brands can make the most of this new feature.
  • Snapchat’s introduction of Memories now allows brands to use photos and graphics created outside of the app and repackage them to showcase to followers using the Story feature. This allows brands the ability to pre-produce content and strategically plan and upload it without the limitation of having to take the photo or video in the app at the specific time you want to share it.
  • Twitter recently announced they will open their Moments feature to more creative partners to capture various points of view, including influencers, partners and brands. This will allow brands to create tweets in response to the top news stories of the day and be featured on the timelines of users who choose to follow that particular Moment.
