Largemouth’s Twitter Communications Campaign Recognized on the National Stage

Largemouth has exciting news to share! PR News recently named our campaign - Revving Up Twitter Engagement for the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America - a finalist in the 2016 Digital PR Awards. We’re proud to compete against organizations and PR firms from across the country in the ‘Twitter Communications’ category.

The Digital PR Awards celebrate the most outstanding communications initiatives and organizations in the highly competitive and dynamic PR arena. The winners of this program represent the best of the best in all areas of social media and digital communications.

About our campaign
For 22 years, former NASCAR driver and NBC Sports racing analyst Kyle Petty has been devoted to the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, leading motorcyclists in an annual cross-country trek to raise funds and awareness for Victory Junction, a camp for kids with serious health care needs. As one of the most successful and popular charity rides in the country, the Ride creates lasting relationships and memories with bikers from around the country each year.

To make sure their experiences reached fans nationwide year-round, the Ride tapped Largemouth to drive Twitter engagement by turning their experiences into heartwarming stories that motivate others to support the cause.

From November 2015 through May 2016, Largemouth achieved the following results from its Twitter communications campaign for the Ride:

  • Garnered an average of 163,700 impressions per month
  • Received an average of 210 mentions per month
  • Saw a 91.4 percent month-over-month increase in profile visits
  • Saw an 88.6 percent month-over-month increase in new followers

In addition, Largemouth’s Twitter communications attracted new riders to participate in the 22nd Anniversary journey. Those who cited social buzz as being the reason they joined the Ride produced at least $16,000 in funds raised for the cause. Lastly, Largemouth’s regular call-to-action posts that encouraged fans to donate online to help send kids to camp, ultimately contributed to raising $1 million in 2016.

Award winners and honorable mentions will be recognized at the PR News Digital PR Awards Luncheon on November 16, 2016 from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the Yale Club in New York City.
