LARGEMOUTH’S KYLE PETTY CHARITY RIDE ACROSS AMERICA CAMPAIGN EARNS HONORABLE MENTION FOR “BEST USE O
Largemouth Communications is pleased to announce that the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America (KPCRAA) has been awarded honorable mention in the PR Daily Digital PR & Social Media Awards. After competing against more than 155 submissions, KPCRAA was selected as one of three finalists for the “Best Use of Twitter” category, along with Cisco Live and @HopkinsMedNews Twitter feed.
Since the KPCRAA’s creation in 1995, the Ride has grown considerably from a casual joyride of a small group of friends to one of the most successful and popular charity rides in the country.
This year, with the help of Largemouth’s strategic counsel, planning and execution of on-site media relations and social media strategy, the KPCRAA raised $1.3 million for Victory Junction – a camp dedicated to providing life-changing camping experiences for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses – topping the charts for the most funds raised in a single year since 2008.
Because of Largemouth’s social media strategy, leading up to the 23rd annual KPCRAA in May 2017, the Ride’s Twitter account gained 124 followers and 925 new fans, nearly doubling that of the previous year, and saw an average of 190,814 impressions per month since November 2016. Kyle Petty’s personal Twitter account also doubled in average monthly impressions and gained 10,260 followers in the months leading up to the event.
Year-around and through the Rides, Largemouth keeps KPCRAA followers engaged by sharing play-by-play updates and recap videos to all their social media accounts. In addition to their expanded presence on Twitter, KPCRAA’s number of Facebook followers, as well as the average monthly likes on Instagram, also doubled since 2016, making this year one for the books.
