LARGEMOUTH SELECTED AS PR AGENCY OF RECORD FOR GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Largemouth Communications, a full-service public relations firm based in Raleigh-Durham, was selected as the public relations agency of record for the Global War on Terror (GWOT) Memorial Foundation, leading the development and execution of strategic media and communications plans. The GWOT Memorial Foundation is the congressionally-designated nonprofit organization providing the organizing, fundraising and coordinating efforts to build a memorial in Washington, D.C. to honor fallen warriors, United States services members, their families and all those who have served in the nation’s longest war.

“When we searched for a PR firm, Largemouth Communications came highly recommended and has become a trusted and integral part of our team on this exciting and historic project,” said Michael “Rod” Rodriguez, president and CEO, Global War on Terror Memorial Foundation. “With their extensive media relations expertise and background serving military and veteran-focused organizations, we saw them as the ideal agency partner to help us educate Americans on the complexities and sacrifices of this war. Together we will pave the way for a memorial that will be a sacred, healing space for GWOT veterans, their families and all Americans across multiple generations.”

Largemouth is leading the development and execution of strategic communications and media relations for the Foundation, driving visibility and awareness on local and national levels for its key initiatives across traditional and digital media channels. Over the past 10 years, Largemouth has developed an extensive portfolio of collaborations with military and veteran-focused organizations, including the USO of North Carolina, Soldiers & Airmen Assistance Fund of North Carolina, Fisher House Foundation, American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces, United States Veterans Corps, Enlisted Association of the National Guard of Tennessee Auxiliary Soldier Airman Relief Fund, Florida National Guard Foundation, Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation and the South Carolina Military Family Care Association.

Prior to Veterans Day, Largemouth has spearheaded the successful execution of a variety of awareness and thought leadership campaigns for the GWOT Memorial Foundation. This includes playing a key role in garnering national media coverage of the Foundation’s announcement to bring on former President George W. Bush as its Honorary Chairman as well as its selection of Winstanley Architects & Planners as its executive architect for the project.

“We’re proud to have the opportunity to support the GWOT Memorial Foundation’s mission to honor the experiences of the veterans, service members and families who have been impacted by this multi-generational war,” said Brandon Bryce, president and CEO, Largemouth Communications. “Our work with the Foundation to date has been nothing short of inspiring. We look forward to continuing to support Rod and the team to spark more meaningful conversations and strengthen awareness for this important memorial.”

About Global War on Terror Memorial Foundation
The Global War on Terror (GWOT) Memorial Foundation is the congressionally-designated nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide the organizing, fundraising and coordinating efforts to build a memorial on the National Mall in Washington D.C. to honor our fallen warriors, United States services members, their families and all those who have served in our nation’s longest war. Through its dedicated efforts, the Foundation seeks to build a tangible symbol of the sacrifices made by our country’s service members and their families. The Foundation is a platinum-level GuideStar participant, demonstrating its commitment to transparency.

Since Sept. 11, 2001, nearly 3 million Americans have deployed in support of the GWOT. Of those service members, close to 7,000 have been killed, with 52,000 wounded in action and an estimated 20 percent of veterans returning home grappling with the invisible wounds of war such as posttraumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). The GWOT Memorial Foundation believes that our service members, their families and the American people deserve a fitting memorial where our country can learn about, reflect and honor their endurance and sacrifice.
