Largemouth and Kangaroo Express Wrap-Up Salute Our Troops with Governor Pat McCrory
The Largemouth team helped put the cherry on top of client Kangaroo Express’ summer-long Salute Our Troops® fundraising campaign with a check presentation at the North Carolina State Capitol. Governor Pat McCrory joined Kangaroo Express executives to present over half a million dollars to NC-based military beneficiaries including the USO of North Carolina, the Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund of North Carolina (SAAF-NC) and United States Veterans Corps.
By aligning with Gov. McCrory’s week of Veteran’s Day activities, Largemouth generated great awareness of Kangaroo Express’ ongoing efforts to support service members and their families across North Carolina. By coordinating an appearance by Gov. McCrory and N.C. legislators, Largemouth validated Kangaroo Express’ values of military support among key audiences across the Triangle. Three out of the four local broadcast stations covered the check presentation event, several of which took the opportunity to tell the broader story of Kangaroo Express’ military support! The team also engaged with Governor McCrory through his social media channels and worked with his communication’s team to include the event on his website, elevating the profile of the event on political websites.
Kangaroo Express’ fourth annual Salute Our Troops campaign raised donations for military support organizations through in-store donations and motorcycle charity ‘ROO Rides’ that took place throughout the Southeast. This year, Salute Our Troops raised $1.9 million in support of Fisher House Foundation, American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces, the United States Veterans Corps and several state-based military support organizations including the USO of North Carolina and SAAF-NC.
Largemouth is proud of its involvement in the Salute Our Troops campaign over the past four years, and we’re pleased to share that this summer we secured millions of media impressions to expand the visibility of this worthy cause. This check presentation wrapped-up a strong media push for an important cause, and we’re looking forward to what next summer has in store for the team!
