1. What is one thing you’ve learned throughout your time in PR?
While I’ve only been in the industry for a short time, I’ve learned that there’s never a boring day in the office! The PR industry is extremely fast-paced, so I’m constantly moving from one project to the next. On the agency side in particular, I’ve learned a lot about balancing a variety of clients with a completely different scope of work.
2. What advice do you have for upcoming PR pros?
Utilize semester and summer internships! Upcoming PR pros shouldn’t look at internships as just another resume builder; an internship can help you determine your likes and dislikes of the industry before committing to a full-time job. There are so many different aspects of PR – and testing them out outside of the classroom is the most beneficial way to map out your career.
3. What song do you listen to pump yourself up?
“Raise Up” by Petey Pablo is my go-to pump up song. Any Tar Heel football fan knows how energizing it is when this song blares through the speakers at UNC games! Outside of Kenan Stadium, this song helps me power through a workout or a road trip.
