Behind the Megaphone: Jami Sowers

1.  What is your favorite part about working for Largemouth?

Having experience at agencies both smaller and larger than Largemouth, my favorite thing about working here would be the value our team puts on collaboration and how every employee is encouraged to share their opinions and ideas, from interns all the way up to our senior leadership team.

It truly is a great experience to work with such passionate team members who bring unique perspectives to the table daily, whether it’s brainstorming ideas for client campaigns, editing a press release or developing witty social media content, I know I can count on my team to deliver quality work to the client every time.

2.  What advice do you have for upcoming PR pros?

Don’t get too comfortable! The way people receive news continues to change and evolve. Client needs are also changing with the industry landscape. As a public relations professional, stay open-minded and continue to educate yourself on industry trends.

Take advantage of internship experiences by asking for more responsibilities and other opportunities to learn; no one will fault you for that. Find a mentor, or multiple contacts, that you can reach out to when you have a question or need advice from the perspective of someone outside of your organization. This will prove invaluable as you grow in your career

3.  What song do you listen to pump yourself up?

Most recently, I have been listening to How Else (Late Remix) by Steve Aoki. This upbeat track is perfect for cancelling out office noise and refocusing on the task at hand, powering through a strenuous workout or even getting pumped up before a fun night out on the town.
